Fai la tua domanda all'Esperto

Ngako from Douala/Cameroun asks:

Bonsoir, Quelle(s) solution(s) me proposez-vous pour pouvoir compter les insectes collés sur l'une des plaques de glu des désinsectiseurs inPEST que j'ai installés chez un de mes clients? Votre réponse est vivement attendue pour satisfaire ce client que notre entreprise l'a convaincue à accepter les marques inPEST. Dans l'attente, recevez nos vœux les meilleurs pour l'année 2016

L'Esperto answers:

Dear Mr Ngako,

first of all I would like to thank you for your question.

It is possible to make an estimation of the various catches on a glueboard in different ways, basing both on the customer’s problems and on their repetitiveness. The flying insect monitoring must give information both on the degree of isolation of buildings and on specific problems. Considering that the insects entrance from outside refers to different typologies of insects, it could be possible to start making and estimation of the insect percentage covering the glueboards.

Then, it could be possible to find out groups of insects and  count directly those pests to which generally sanitary risks are linked (for example flies, blowflies, wasps, and all those species representing a critical element for the environment). The direct count is suggested for those species which could be found in foodstuff. It is possible to establish some values beyond which the final data can be approximated (around 50, around 60, etc...), or the approximations can be determined dividing the glueboard into different sections. In the last case, catches can be counted in an established number of sections and the obtained data validated for the whole board. This method can be applied in case of an homogeneous distribution of insects on the gluebords.

So, just to finish, the found data should be obtained basing on tolerance limits, especially in the food field, which have to be fixed analysing historical data and in accordance with the customers’ needs.
